Prayer is Our Battle Stance

Standing Against the Temptations We Face. Part 2 in a bible study on battling temptation. Prayer is the strongest stance we can take when we're tempted.

Who better to seek guidance from than someone who has battled the storm and won?

When I’m struggling against temptation, my heart longs to find someone who understands what I’m going through. I want to learn from their experiences, be encouraged by their strength and empowered by their courage.

Those who have gone before us understand what we’re up against. And because they’ve already overcome the storms we’re facing, they can help us to achieve the same victory.

But who can we go to for help?

In part two of Standing Against the Temptations We Face, we will take a closer look at the role prayer plays in battling temptation.

In this short bible study we will:

  • Discover that we can boldly go to Jesus and ask for the strength, wisdom, and courage to overcome temptation.
  • Develop a better understanding of how prayer can prepare us to handle temptation.
  • Be better equipped to stand against the desires of the flesh.

Prayer is something we don’t take seriously enough, unless we’re in a mess. When I am praying and others are praying, I am always amazed at what God does. But, I shouldn’t be. Prayer is something I need to put more time and focus into. Thanks for taking time to write this study!

Thank you for this wonderful Bible study. I love that we can go to Jesus in prayer knowing that he has gone before us and that understands what we’re facing. Thank you, also, for linking up with Grace and Truth last week. I would love to feature this post tomorrow at the link-up.

Kelly, I can’t wait to read over your Bible study. Thank you for the time you spent preparing it. I write about prayer, too and love to read and study more about it. There is always something deeper for God to show me. I’m bookmarking your site to come back to again tonight. Blessings!

Thanks Leslie. God has really been speaking to me about prayer lately. And I don’t think He’s done with me yet because He keeps leading me to study it more.
