Are you feeling weary by everything that’s going on around you?
When my heart is discouraged from the turmoil surrounding me, I have learned that I need to take a break, open my bible, and spend time with God. Reading the scriptures helps to put my mind at ease as I meditate on truths such as God is good (Psalm 100:5), in control(Prov. 19:21), and has not abandoned me; he is right beside me(Isaiah 41:10).
Reflecting on God’s word reminds me that I can trust in him(Psalm 18:30). Knowing that I can trust in God I am encouraged, hopeful, and filled with peace (Isaiah 26:3). If you’re feeling discouraged, I urge you to take a break and spend some time alone with God to pray and read his word. You’ll be glad you did!
I have compiled a list of twenty-five bible verses and passages that I cling to when I’m overwhelmed, anxious, weary, worried, or discouraged. There is a printable version of this list at the bottom of the post available for you to print. Do you like to write out the scriptures? Writing out the verses helps me to focus on them even more, so I provided a space for you to write some of them out.
I hope that by meditating on these powerful truths found in God’s word, you are encouraged.
