Let me share a few things about myself.
FAITH
Jesus is my Lord and Savior!
I’ve known Jesus since I was about twelve, but it wasn’t until many years later that I surrendered and made him the Lord of my life. Not that I’ve got it all together–I still struggle and mess up, so I’m thankful for God’s grace and mercy!
I love God’s word! I still have the first bible I ever received, given to me by my maternal grandmother as a birthday present. I was so excited to have my very own bible! The white leather cover is now stained, and the silver-edged pages have worn, yet the words within it still contain God’s beautiful truth.
My greatest passion is to share what God’s been teaching me through His word. You will find me doing that here–writing about faith, Jesus, Bible study, and how it all fits into everyday life. It’s my hope that you will be encouraged to grow in your relationship with Jesus as you seek and reflect on God’s word.
FAMILY
I live in the Nashville, Tennessee, area with my husband Brandon, our son, Joshua, and our King Charles Cavalier fur-baby. Our daughter Hailey and her husband James live just a short drive away. We’re not originally from Tennessee, but we’ve called it home for about twenty years now and don’t plan to move anytime soon–unless God says otherwise.
My hubby and I met in eighth-grade English class; however, we did not start dating until several years later and then got married right out of high school. Many thought we were too young, and maybe we were, but by the grace of God, we’ve been together for over twenty-five adventurous years and raised two children. We aren’t quite empty nesters, but our kiddos are both in their adult years, so we’re learning to walk prayerfully through this season of life as best we can.
OTHER TIDBITS
When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me working on a new arts and crafts project, hunting for vintage items, or planning my family’s next visit to the mountains.
My daughter and I love perusing at estate sales! You never know what treasures you’ll find; a lot of the furniture and decor in my house are from estate sales.
Crafting is how I unwind. Being busy with my hands in a creative way brings me a sense of serenity.
And the mountains really do hold a special place in my heart. I love being outdoors in God’s beautiful creation. Which mountain range is my favorite? I may be partial, but it’s The Smokies, for sure!
